RS Live is a platform that allows user to play Ludo online. Ludo is a board game that dates back to 3300 BC in India. This traditional game is simple to learn and enjoyable for both youngsters and adults. Other Western adaptations of Pachisi include Parchs from Spain, Parcheesi from the United States, and Uckers, a type of Ludo played on a Ludo board in the Royal Navy (and apparently various non-British navies).
The virtual/online version of the game allows user to select a colour for their tokens; Red, Blue,Yellow,Green.
The virtual ludo board consists of a square board with four different coloured bases (Red, Blue,Yellow,Green) in each corner. The first coloured space outside of each base is the start position. A path leads clockwise around the board returning to a path with the same colour as the base, then to the home column, which leads to the centre home triangle.
There are four different coloured token that start off in their matching bases. Each set consists of 4 playing tokens. The included dice is used to govern the movement of the pieces.
In RS Live a player can choose to play with one, two, three or four token depending on his interest and time to invest. 2 – 4 player game can be chosen by selecting a room, token and its colour. Each takes turns throwing the dice, and the player with the highest roll (6) or lowest (1) plays first. The players to the left follow in turn going clockwise. On each player’s turn, the player rolls the dice to determine a move. The goal of the game is to move tokens of the player’s tokens clockwise once around the board, up the home column, and into the home triangle.
